Dr. Paul Noel has practiced surgery in Athens since 1998. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery.
Dr. Noel grew up in Huntsville, Alabama, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Preferring the idea of fixing people to the idea of fixing machines, he went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 1991. While in Mobile, he completed a two-year NIH Research Fellowship in pulmonary physiology, publishing in national journals and presenting research at national forums. He then completed General Surgery residency at the University of South Alabama hospital system serving as Chief Resident and clinical instructor.
Dr. Noel began practicing surgery at his current location in Athens in 1998 and is currently Chief of Surgery at Athens-Limestone Hospital. When not in the OR, he enjoys spending time with his family and occasionally playing golf. He continues to perfect his grilling skills on a regular basis.
